Simple Treasures Shawl, a Knitting Pattern by Christine Long Derks.
The Simple Treasures Shawl is an easy lace pattern that shows off hand dyed sock yarn! If you can knit, purl, yarn over and knit 2 together, you can knit this shawl. It's a fun knit, especially pretty in tonal or semi solid fingering weight sock yarns.
One skein of Cashmere Super Toes Sock Yarn creates this gorgeous oversized shawl!
Skills needed are cast on, knit, purl, yarn over, knit 2 together, bind off.
Yarn requirements:
500-600 yards fingering weight yarn (1.5 skeins of regular 100 gram sock yarn)
OR ONE skein of Treasure Goddess Super Toes MCN yarn (150 grams, 549 meters/600 yards, 80% superwash merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon).
Colorways in photographs are Song of the Sirens (cranberry/purple) and Walk the Plank (chocolate brown). Cranberry version has lots of bands of lace, chocolate brown version is knit with stockinette body and the lace pattern at the bottom edge only.
Needle size: 6 US (4 metric), OPTIONAL size 8 US (5 metric) for bind-off (or just use size 6 and make sure to bind off loosely).
Misc Needs: 4 stitch markers, darning needle to weave in ends.
This really is a glorious pattern, fun to knit, even more fun to wear! Wear as a traditional shawl across the back, or wear with the point down in front and pull ends to front as a spectacular shawlette/scarf accessory.
A pdf pattern will be available for download after payment is complete.
This listing is for the PATTERN ONLY, not finished item. Easy knitting pattern!
